February 1, 2017Four-star defensive end LaBryan Ray has committed to Alabama, adding yet another strong player onto the Crimson Tide defensive line.
You can now add LaBryan Ray’s name onto the long list of highly sought after defensive ends that have decided to spend their college days in Tuscaloosa playing for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The 4-star prospect out of Madison, Alabama has committed to the Tide, making an already strong position for Alabama even better. The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder has tremendous body control and gets away from his defender well with good disengagement skills. Ray is disciplined and makes tackles, something that will suit the needs of Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and Saban, who require control and preparation from their players.
Ray is ranked the 62nd top prospect in the 2017 signing class, and No. 6 among all defensive ends. A hard worker, he will have to work on his pass rushing skills and explosion off of the line to become an elite pass rusher in the SEC, but the potential is there for him to become the next great end, if not tackle, for the Tide.
Ray chose Alabama over rival SEC schools Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Auburn.
