Kyshaun Bryan discusses several teams in his top 10. He plans to release the full list in the near future.
March 15, 2016St. Thomas Aquinas prospect Kyshaun Bryan discusses a handful of the top schools on his list.
Florida has one of the deepest, most talent-rich crops of football prospects in the entire country. That could be why UGA head coach Kirby Smart extended nine scholarships at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Unfortunately for Kyshaun Bryan, he wasn’t one of the ones walking away with an offer from the Bulldogs. The 3-star running back does plan on including four other SEC teams in his top 10, though.
Bryan told SEC Country he plans on releasing a top-10 list soon, and it will include Florida, South Carolina, LSU and Mississippi State.
The Gators are an intriguing option for Bryan because his teammate, 4-star quarterback Jake Allen, has been committed to play for Jim McElwain since July 1.
“They’re real good. Hopefully I can get up there soon, check out the school and talk to (running backs) coach Tim Skipper,” Bryan said. “Jake Allen talks to me everyday about Florida. That’s where he’s going, and he loves it. I’ve known him since I was young.”
It’s hard to ignore the call of LSU, though, especially with Leonard Fournette expected to leave Baton Rouge, La. for the NFL after the 2016 season.
Bryan’s former teammate, defensive tackle Ed Alexander, signed with the Tigers in the 2016 class.
“I was actually shocked that [LSU] offered me,” Bryan said. “They’ve been showing me interest, and I’m anxious to get up there. I heard it’s a great place, so I’m excited about going to see it for myself.”
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native is also high on Mississippi State and South Carolina. Bryan is familiar with Will Muschamp, who was recruiting him while he was still the head coach of Florida.
Chad Simmons of Scout.com recently caught up with Bryan as well, who revealed another three teams that are going to make his top 10 cut.
“Miami, FSU and Ohio State,” Bryan told Simmons.
He plans to cut down his list one more time and either make a decision this summer or upcoming season.
As far as what he’s looking for, Bryan wants to put himself into the most comfortable situation and commit to the team that shows it wants him the most.
