Kristian Fulton recruiting update following his visit to LSU. Fulton has named a leader.

Four-star cornerback prospect Kristian Fulton is on the home stretch of his recruitment. Fulton, a native of Metairie, La., made the short drive to the west this past weekend to visit the LSU Tigers.

LSU has long been considered the frontrunner for Fulton’s services, and after spending a weekend in Baton Rouge, La., it doesn’t appear that anything has changed.

According to Andrew Lopez of NOLA.com, Fulton texted that the Tigers are his top school “as of now.”

A commitment from Fulton would help LSU strengthen its grip on the top spot in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

There have been rumblings as of late that Fulton may consider leaving the state to play for conference rival Florida, which would be a big-time recruiting coup for Jim McElwain. The Tigers and Gators have gone back and forth in recent years over the title “Defensive Back University,” and plucking a prospect of Fulton’s caliber out of LSU’s backyard would be a major statement.

Arkansas has also been hot on Fulton’s trail.

Both the Gators and Razorbacks will receive visits from Fulton ahead of National Signing Day, and each will have their work cut out if they want to sway the nation’s No. 3 cornerback and No. 24 overall player.
