Kristian Fulton commits to the LSU Tigers on National Signing Day.

Recruiting is a funny game, isn’t it? Well, maybe it’s more stressful than funny, but there are definitely a lot of twists and turns on the recruiting trail. And the long process of the 2016 cycle is coming to an end with a top defensive playmaker headed to the SEC.

Kristian Fulton committed to LSU, and it’s a huge pickup for the Tigers to land the nation’s No. 3 cornerback.

The 4-star corner, who ranks as the No. 34 overall prospect in the class, chose to go to Baton Rouge, La. and play for Les Miles instead of playing for Jim McElwain and the Florida Gators. Arkansas was also in the mix.

Either way, Fulton is entering the “D.B.U.” debate, but he’ll be doing it in purple in gold instead of orange and blue.

    Jalen Tabor CB

Kristian Fulton certainly has the talent to be an elite cornerback at the next level. He has a sixth sense to locate the football and a nose to find the end zone when he does get the interception — much like Jalen Tabor. Another trait he possesses, mirroring Tabor’s personality, is his vocal style of play. Fulton is assertive and intimidating, and he takes pride in psyching out quarterbacks. He needs to bulk up and study the game more, but he has “lockdown corner” written all over him.
