Kobe Hudson, a highly-touted athlete in the 2020 class has opened up on his top schools. Alabama and Clemson, the past two national title winners, sit atop the heap.

For the past two years, the College Football National Championship Game has featured the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers. The teams have split the difference, with each game being hailed as an instant classic. The Tide and Tigers are, unquestionably, the figureheads of college football.

Such success has a ripple effect on recruiting that trickles down well past a current class. Take, for example, 2020 athlete Kobe Hudson. Out of LaGrange, Georgia, Hudson has the past two national champions atop his list. In terms of Alabama, it’s a legacy of greatness that presents the main draw.

“I was just at Alabama again and over there, it is just a feel of greatness,” Hudson recently told Rivals. “You see greatness in the coaches, the players, the facilities and everything there at Alabama. I am only a freshman, but when I am there they make me feel at home, they make me feel important and I feel like I am wanted.

Clemson, on the other hand, is riding a hot streak and keeps in close contact with the recruit. It also doesn’t hurt that Hudson was at the Palmetto Bowl to watch the Tigers wax in-state rival South Carolina, 56-7.

“I was at Clemson when they played South Carolina and I like them a lot right now. They are a winning team and it is important for me to go play for a program that knows how to win. They are always in contact with me …. I like the attention they are showing me right now.”

There’s obviously a long, long road to go for Hudson, as his recruitment is still in the nascent stages. Still, when the past two national champions top the list, that’s as good a place as any to start.
