Kansas vs. UConn picks for the NCAA Tournament's second round game.
March 17, 2016The NCAA Tournament’s selection committee can sit back and pretend like they don’t manipulate seedings so we’re given banner second-round matchups, but we know. We know. This gorgeous contest between Kansas and UConn is just what they had in mind when drawing up the bracket.
Kansas is, without question, the favorite in this tournament. They topped the nation’s toughest conference – both in the regular season and in the Big 12 Tournament – and have the most momentum of all the teams left. A 105-79 first-round win over Austin Peay proves as much.
As for UConn, well it’s that time of the year when the Huskies come alive. UConn heated up in the AAC Tournament, and then battled Colorado til the finish, finally pulling away at the end. This is not the kind of cupcake Kansas was expecting when being named the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed.
Here are the Campus Insiders Kansas vs. UConn picks.
The Huskies’ luck runs out. Kansas will be challenged, but advance.
Kansas all day. You put up 100 points, you are ready to take on the world. Unless it comes down to the last minute, that is when UConn seems to thrive. #RockChalkJayhawk.
The matchup in the backcourt will be fun, but Kansas has too much talent in the backcourt and inside to get beat before the Sweet 16.
Kansas’ guards win the battle of backcourts. Too many offensive weapons for the Jayhawks.
