The rich are getting richer.
Fresh off of a College Football Playoff national championship game win over Alabama, Clemson has added to its 2018 recruiting class. Four-star prospect Justin Mascoll announced via Twitter that he has pledged to Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.
The weakside defensive end from South Gwinnett (Snellville, Ga.) is one of the best overall players in the country. He represents yet another key piece from the Peach Tree State for the program. The No. 1 overall player in this cycle, quarterback Trevor Lawrence from Lawrenceville, is also a Clemson commit.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder chose Clemson over Alabama, Florida State and Georgia. He took an unofficial visit to campus less than two weeks ago and was obviously impressed by what he saw from the ACC’s premier program.
It is becoming apparent that defensive end has emerged as a priority in this class for Swinney and his staff. The Tigers are still pursuing five-star prospects KJ Henry and Xavier Thomas, who would be real coups if they choose to come to Death Valley and work under new Tigers defensive line coach Todd Bates.
Mascoll is the sixth commit in the Class of 2018 for the Tigers. Most of those players are among the nation’s best players, which is even more important because Clemson may only have between 12-14 scholarships available in this cycle.
