Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente sent a cryptic tweet that could shed light on the impending college decision for the No. 1 safety in the 2017 recruiting class.
January 19, 2017On Friday, 5-star prospect Devon Hunter will finally end his recruitment and announce his college commitment. The nation’s No. 1 safety and No. 5 overall player is choosing between Alabama, Auburn, Florida, North Carolina, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech.
The Chesapeake, Virginia native currently appears to be leaning toward the Hokies. And if there were any doubt about Virginia Tech’s chances of landing the elite safety, just take a look at Justin Fuente’s Twitter profile.
On Thursday, the Hokies head coach sent out a cryptic tweet of a Virginia Tech jersey in a locker from the Hokies’ 45-24 loss to Tennessee on Sept. 10, a.k.a. the Battle at Bristol. The intriguing part is the jersey number is seven. Guess who wore No. 7 in high school … that’s right, Hunter did.
