Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett made his appearance in court Tuesday to plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense for operating a vehicle while impaired on Oct. 31.

While in court, Barrett took the time to issue an apology to Ohio State and all Buckeyes fans for his actions.

The ABC 6 affiliate in Columbus, Ohio recorded Barrett’s apology.

Head coach Urban Meyer said Barrett would need a good week at practice in order for the redshirt sophomore quarterback to start on the road against Illinois.

Barrett had taken the starting job from Cardale Jones before being arrested on Halloween morning. Jones led the Buckeyes to a 28-14 win against Minnesota on Saturday — a game which Barrett was suspended for.

Ohio State will take on the Fighting Illini at 11:00 a.m. CT in Champaign, Ill. on Saturday.
