Kaindoh decommitted from Maryland on Nov. 28, just after visiting Penn State for the Nittany Lions’ 45-12 win over Michigan State.
“At this time, after coming home and discussing this matter with my family, I have decided that I am decommitting from the University of Maryland,” Kaindoh wrote on social media. “Thank you to Maryland’s coaching staff for their belief in me and for a great opportunity. Thank you to the Terp fans for their continuous support and love toward me as I was committed. I wish Maryland nothing but the best. Thank you to everyone who understands.”
Teams in the mix to land the nation’s No. 6 defensive end and No. 53 overall player are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Penn State. He took official visits to all four this year, and the Seminoles are currently believed to be the frontrunner to land the elite pass rusher.
Kaindoh is listed at 6-foot-6 and 252 pounds.
