3-Star DT Jordon Scott Decommits From Florida Gators
Three-star defensive tackle Jordon Scott decommitted from Florida on Tuesday night. Jim McElwain's team now has 15 commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

Three-star defensive tackle Jordon Scott decommitted from Florida on Tuesday night.
For the second time in a week, Jim McElwains’ Gators have lost a 3-star recruit from their 2017 recruiting class.
Jordon Scott, the No. 44 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 defensive tackle in the Sunshine State, decommited from Florida on Tuesday night. His decommitment comes about a week after 3-star prospect Adarius Lemons, the No. 4 running back in the state and No. 24 running back in the nation, backed off his commitment.
The 6-foot-1, 350-pound Largo, Florida native released a statement regarding his decision to back off his pledge to the Gators.
“For more reasons than one, I’ve chosen to decommit from the University of Florida. [They’re] great people. [It’s a] great program [with] great fans. The coaching staff is full of great coaches, and I wish them the best of luck on the rest of the season. To all the Gators fans, I truly appreciate you guys bringing me into the family. But at this time, I will open my recruitment 100 percent wide open.”
Scott is strong and quick off the ball. He utilizes a bull rush that is highly effective in collapsing the pocket and in getting penetration to stop the run. Aside from Florida, Scott holds additional offers from Arizona, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Tennessee, West Virginia and others.
As for the Gators’ class, it still sits at No. 13 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings with 15 commits. Florida has 2,257 recruiting points, which puts it, 76 points behind No. 12 Auburn, 106 points behind in-state rival Florida State (No. 11) and 403 points behind No. 10 Clemson.
