Florida running back Jordan Scarlett shared his thoughts on Twitter after Elijah Blades’ decommitment.

What has been speculated for quite some time finally came to fruition late Wednesday night: four-star cornerback recruit Elijah Blades decommitted from the Florida Gators. This despite him reaffirming that he was all orange and blue as recently as the Outback Bowl.

After the news, Florida running back Jordan Scarlett sounded off on Twitter. Scarlett and Blades engaged in some back and forth, at which point Blades stated “lol cause I wanna stay home?”

The hometown USC Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers have been hot on the trail of Blades for a while now. Many have pointed to the Cornhuskers having the best shot at flipping him, but his comments about staying close to home may suggest otherwise. He released a new top five after his decommitment, including Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Oregon and USC.

Blades originally committed to Florida on June 22, 2016. With his decommitment, the Gators have slid to No. 31 in Scout’s team recruiting rankings just a week out from National Signing Day.

He’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, and is ranked the nation’s No. 33 cornerback and No. 9 cornerback in the state of California.
