Jordan-Hare Stadium renovation renderings have been released by Auburn. The Tigers are gauging fans' interest in the proposed project.
December 17, 2015Since taking his team to the 2013 BCS National Championship in his first season as head coach, Gus Malzahn has slowly watched his team regress — from 12 wins, to eight wins, to six wins in the 2015 regular season.
Auburn has been going backwards for the past two seasons, but now it’s time to look ahead into the future.
Maybe that’s why the Tigers are looking into renovating Jordan-Hare Stadium. But before that happens, Auburn is releasing a survey into the world of football donors and those who support Tigers football.
Auburn Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs opened up to discuss the plan.
“Before we move forward and ask for approval on such a major project, it’s vitally important for us to reach out to the Auburn Family,” Jacobs said. “This survey is critical because it will help us determine the level of interest and support for a potential renovation to Jordan-Hare Stadium. The level of interest and support in a major stadium renovation must be substantial for it to be feasible.”
Renovating Jordan-Hare would mean adding onto the number of restrooms, escalators and elevators. It would lead to a North End Zone video board and on-site kitchen. Premium seating additions would also be a priority of the project.
“We know it’s important to continue to improve the gameday experience, and that’s why it’s been a focus of mine for years now.” Jacobs said. “We know our fans and donors want more amenities such as more premium seating options but also other amenities that all of our fans will benefit from.”
And so, surveys have been sent out to the “Auburn family,” and anyone who backs Tigers football, with images and renderings of the projected renovations.
Jacobs said that the project will only move forward if there is a consensus to do so.
Depending on the feedback it gets, Auburn could be in line for an upgrade very soon.
