Tight end Jordan Davis is transferring from Texas A&M after just one season with the Aggies.
It’s been a rough offseason for the Texas A&M Aggies — to say the least.
Before the 2015 calendar year even came to a close, head coach Kevin Sumlin watched two former 5-star quarterbacks transfer away from the Texas A&M program. Sophomore Kyle Allen announced he’d be transferring to the Houston Cougars to play for Tom Herman. After that, freshman Kyler Murray made it known he intended to transfer to the Oklahoma Sooners to play for Bob Stoops.
Sumlin caught a bit of a break when Trevor Knight decided to transfer from Oklahoma to the Aggies, but Texas A&M just took another jab to the chin on Wednesday night.
Former 4-star tight end Jordan Davis, the No. 5 tight end from the 2015 recruiting class, tweeted out a message announcing he’d be transferring, too.
With Davis’ transfer, the Aggies are now left in a pretty big hole at the position. Texas A&M still has freshmen Grant Gustafson and Greer Shetler on the roster with Brandon Alexander and Caden Smith both graduating.
