Whoever you are, wherever you are … stop what you’re doing. It’s time for your daily dose of college football recruiting madness.
This edition comes to you via your friendly neighborhood Michigan head coach, Jim Harbaugh.
We know, we know … what could the Wolverines head coach possibly have done now to deserve another 15 seconds in the limelight? You might want to hold onto your chairs for this.
Apparently, Jim Harbaugh took a little bit of the WWE home with him because he and 3-star defensive tackle Phillip Paea got into a wrestling match, according to Maize N Brew.
“(Harbaugh) was real interesting,” Paea said. “We actually wrestled for a little bit. He’s definitely one coach you won’t find at any other school.”
The defensive tackle prospect was at Michigan for the Northwestern basketball game. Apparently, “basketball game” is loosely translated to “cage match.”
Paea did enjoy the tour of the facilities and his time with the Wolverines head coach.
“I was with him the whole day,” he said. “He’s a big part of the reason why I liked Michigan so much. Being an islander, like myself, we had a great connection.”
Paea, who’s from Berrien Springs, Mich., believes it’s pretty likely he’ll end up playing college football in Michigan.
“I have family on the West Coast, and I have home in Michigan,” he said. “I’ll probably end up either somewhere in Michigan, or somewhere on the west coast near family.”
If only Paea had posted that wrestling match to Snapchat, the world would have gone nuts. How does Harbaugh pitch that, though?
“Come to Michigan and fly off the top turnbuckle with us,” or “The Wolverines are about to lay the smackdown with a stone-cold stunner on the Big Ten.”
The pun possibilities are endless.
