Jim Harbaugh shared a heartfelt letter one of his Michigan football players sent to him.

Jim Harbaugh is a very fiery coach. He’s a man with a lot of passion and intensity. Harbaugh has dedicated his entire adult life to the game of football, and it’s produced a lot of satisfying memories for him.

Would he have liked to win the Super Bowl instead of watching his brother, John Harbaugh, raise the Lombardi Trophy? Of course. But his days as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers are over.

He’s a Michigan man again — back at home with his alma mater.

Aside from trying to win football games and recruit the nation’s top talent to Ann Arbor, Mich., Harbaugh has another very important goal: to mold his players into respectable men.

From the looks of a letter Harbaugh received from one of his players, Albert Karschnia, he’s made a sizable impact in the short amount of time he’s been the Wolverines head coach. Harbaugh tweeted out an image of the letter, extremely impressed with the young man’s attitude.

Below is a transcription of the letter.

     Coach Harbaugh,

One year ago today, I began my journey in fulfilling a lifelong dream. After three applications, two and a half years of waiting, and weeks of uncertainty, I finally had the opportunity that I had worked for my whole life: to be a part of the Michigan Football Program. When I stepped into Schembechler Hall the morning of January 19, 2015, I had no idea what was in store, but I knew that I was going to do whatever I could to help their team succeed.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to be on this team, and my mindset has not changed from Day 1. No matter what your title is, no matter what it entails, the only thing that matters is helping the team win. I wake up every morning with that mentality and always strive to do everything and anything I can do to accomplish that goal.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this team and your program. I am so proud to be able to represent the University of Michigan and Michigan Football. The range of emotions I have felt this year is too vast to put into words, but I will say I have never felt more blessed or humbled on a daily basis than I did this past season. Every time I walk into Schembechler Hall, it is a constant reminder of the amazing opportunity I have been afforded. I am looking to improve and grow individually and as a team. I hope to be with this team for many years to come and am excited to be able to do whatever I can to help you and help this team win!

Thank you for a great first year and GO BLUE!

    Best Regards,
    Albert Karschnia
