Jeffery Simmons committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs on National Signing Day.

If you’re a college quarterback in the SEC, be afraid … be very, very afraid. Jeffery Simmons has made a decision on where he’ll play college football, and it’ll be in Starkville, Mississippi.

Simmons, the No. 2 defensive end and No. 10 overall recruit, committed to Mississippi State on National Signing Day. He chose the Bulldogs over Alabama and Ole Miss.

The 5-star defensive end will surely get some reps as a true freshman, and we’ll definitely be hearing his name over the next few years.

He’s built a lot like Dante Fowler Jr, and like the former Florida Gator, Simmons can penetrate the backfield in a variety of ways. He can stand up and attack the edge with a killer club-and-swim move. His quickness and agility make him more devastating because offensive tackles have to watch out for the inside step, but it doesn’t end there. Simmons can put his hand in the dirt and pinch in on the line to attack the B gap and stop the run. He’s a playmaker.
