Jarrett Stidham is narrowing his transfer decision down to Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M, and the former Baylor quarterback commented on each school.

Three SEC fan bases are hoping that an early holiday present comes this December with the announcement of Jarrett Stidham deciding to play for their respective teams next season. The former Baylor quarterback is expected to announce his decision soon, and Stidham spoke with Aggie Sports Radio on his impressions of his suitors: Auburn, Florida, and Texas A&M.

“It’s a great school, great coaches,” Stidham said of the Auburn Tigers, who are desperately looking for a guy under center that can thrive in Gus Malzahn’s offense.

“Great players and great coaches. The SEC is a little bit of a different world of football than what I played in. It’s the best of the best. Especially in the West. It’s good to sit down and talk with those guys. We had a great visit this time last week with those coaches. Got to meet a bunch of players and hang out with them. It was a really good visit up there. I’m still talking to those guys about every day honestly. Everything with Auburn has been really good.”

Florida, a latecomer in the sweepstakes, made a good impression on Stidham when he visited the Gators.

“The visit went great. It was the first time I got to meet coach McElwain. I knew Coach Nussmeier back when he was at Alabama and Michigan. Sit down and talk with him and Coach Mac about their vision at Florida. Which obviously they have done tremendous the past two years since Coach Mac has got there. But really just to sit down with them and talk about things, how I could fit in and all that kind of stuff. It was a really good visit and I am probably going to get on the phone with them at some tomorrow and talk about some things. Kind of move forward from then.”

The Gators have been on a constant search for a quarterback the last two seasons under head coach Jim McElwain, with Luke Del Rio and Austin Appleby each seeing time under center this season as Florida finished No. 84 in the nation in passing offense, averaging only 215.3 yards per game.

Texas A&M seemed like a fit for Stidham, who will have three years of eligibility remaining, with Trevor Knight graduating and incoming freshman Kellen Mond being the only competition. However, it looks like the Aggies have fallen off the pace in his recruitment.

“I haven’t talked to them much lately. I don’t know what’s been going on. I just haven’t really talked to them much lately. We’ll just kind of see how things continue to go.”
