Four-star wide receiver Jamire Calvin committed to Nebraska on Friday afternoon, further strengthening the Cornhuskers’ California pipeline.

The pipeline from California to Nebraska continues to grow. On Friday afternoon, 4-star wide receiver Jamire Calvin committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers via social media.

Calvin hails from Los Angeles, and is the third California recruit to pledge to the Cornhuskers – joining fellow commits Keyshawn Johnson, Jr. and Johnson’s Calabasas teammate, quarterback Tristan Gebbia.

Head coach Mike Riley’s ties to California, and really the West Coast in general, run deep. He was once a receivers coach at USC and also served as the head coach for the San Diego Chargers for three seasons. Toss in his two tenures at Oregon State, and the man can certainly pull from the Pacific time zone. Riley and the Huskers are also awaiting word from several other California recruits, including Elijah Blades and Joseph Lewis.

In Calvin, the Cornhuskers have landed a wideout who can run crisp routes and scoot when in open space. He’ll prove himself a threat in both the receiving and return game. Calvin is ranked as the nation’s No. 35 wideout.
