It’s crazy how your life can change in an instant.

Four-star recruit James Robinson is setting up to begin his college football career, but it doesn’t appear he’ll be doing so in Gainesville.

The Florida Gators have reportedly pulled their scholarship offer from the nation’s No. 38-ranked wide receiver, as Robinson was cited for possession of marijuana during his official visit to Ohio State during the weekend of Jan. 20. The university administration will not let the coaching staff send a National Letter of Intent to Robinson, as first reported by SEC Country.

The recruitment for the No. 270 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class was shaping up to be Florida’s race to lose, as the Gators had seemingly pulled ahead of Oklahoma, Ole Miss and others. The Buckeyes stopped recruiting Robinson after learning of his citation and ended up flipping 3-star receiver Elijah Gardiner from Missouri instead.

Now, for Florida, the options for a second wide receiver are bleak. The Gators still have a pledge from 4-star wide receiver Daquon Green, and they’re trying to flip 4-star pass catcher Charleston Rambo from Oklahoma. Rambo enjoyed his official visit to his “dream school,” but the chances of a flip do not appear likely.

As for Robinson, his options are dwindling as well. According to 247Sports, Bowling Green, Marshall and Syracuse have all shown interest in the 4-star receiver.
