Recruiting profile featuring Jamaree Salyer, the No. 15 prospect in the inaugural CI 25 recruiting rankings.

    Jamaree Salyer Recruiting Profile

CI 25 Overall Ranking: No. 15
CI 25 Position Ranking: No. 1
    Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
    School: Pace Academy
    Position: OG
    Height: 6’4″
    Weight: 327 lbs

    Playing Style

You don’t find many guys who are 6-foot-4, 327 lbs and can move the way Jamaree Salyer can. He’s graceful for a big fella. If you call a trap play or tell him to pull, he stays tight to the line and explodes up to the second level.

With the way Georgia runs the football — that good ol’ SEC, between the tackles, ground and pound game — Salyer would be an excellent fit for the Bulldogs. That goes for Alabama as well. Salyer could step in on Day 1 and start for plenty of teams.

    What They’re Saying

“He is very light on his feet for a young 300-pounder … and he has the ability to get to the second level, move in space, and get down the field. He is a natural bender, so his flexibility is good. Salyer is still very raw in some areas and balance is one.” – Scout

“Jamaree fits the prototypical skills and attributes of a college-ready lineman. His high IQ and picking up blocks will propel him to excel on the next level.” – SEN

    Recruiting Overview

We, quite literally, just saw Kirby Smart’s staff recruit two of Salyer’s former high school teammates over to Athens. Georgia signed both 4-star offensive tackle Andrew Thomas and 4-Star wide receiver Trey Blount in the 2017 recruiting class. It will be extremely difficult for any school to get out in front of the Bulldogs here.

You can never count out the Crimson Tide. If Nick Saban wants a recruit badly enough, it would be a bad idea to bet against Alabama. Having said that, it’s still Georgia’s race to lose. Clemson will also make a run at him, but the Tigers have a lot of work to do here. And even Dabo Swinney’s recent history of pulling recruits from the Peach State probably won’t be enough to land Salyer. Ohio State will hang around in his recruitment as well.
