Jaelen Gill's commitment date is set, and it appears that the Ohio State Buckeyes will land the highly-touted recruit out of Westerville, Ohio.
March 1, 2017Jaelen Gill’s commitment date is officially set. Come next Monday, the Westerville, Ohio native will make one team very happy.
One of the top prospects for 2018 is ready to announce his commitment.
Jaelen Gill, a four-star running back out of Westerville, Ohio, tweeted Thursday night that he would be revealing his college decision March 1.
“I am announcing my commitment on March 1st at Westerville South High School, in the auditorium at 2:45 p.m. Thank you for the support!!,” Gill tweeted.
Gill has spent the most time throughout his recruitment with the home-state Ohio State Buckeyes, who are considered the favorite to land the talented running back prospect.
He attended the Buckeyes’ Junior Day on Jan. 28, received a visit from Urban Meyer on Jan. 13 and unofficially visited campus Feb. 20.
Ohio State has been in hot pursuit since extending an offer to Gill during the summer between his freshman and sophomore years.
In addition to the Buckeyes, Gill also holds offers from the likes of Florida, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA and USC.
Listed at 6’1″ and 180 pounds, Gill is the nation’s No. 6 running back and No. 69 overall player for the 2018 recruiting class. He can carry the ball out of the backfield or slide into the slot, and is elusive with the ball in his hands. Once he hits a college training regimen, he’ll add on the necessary size and strength needed at the next level.
Ohio State has already landed a commitment from four-star running back Brian Snead out of Armwood High School (Seffner, Florida) for the 2018 class. Snead is the No. 9 RB and No. 127 overall player.
