Five-star offensive tackle Jack Carman discusses his top schools prior to visiting reigning national champion Clemson.

Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing nearly three bills, Jack Carman is one of the premier players in the 2018 recruiting class. The 5-star offensive tackle is ranked the No. 10 overall player in his class and No. 1 at his position in the inaugural CI 25.

With an upcoming unofficial visit scheduled for reigning national champion Clemson, Carman discussed his top schools – a veritable who’s who of the college football elite.

“The schools I’m looking at right now are Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Clemson and Florida State, with LSU and Wisconsin just behind them,” Carman told Scout.com. “I want to visit most of those places over the next year. I will be going to Clemson this Sunday and be there Monday.

“I will also be at Ohio State for their spring game, while I plan on going to Florida State and USC this summer.”

Already, Carman is a fantastic run blocker who has exceptional pad level. He can stand to refine his technique, something that will come with coaching as he grows into his lanky frame.

As for an announcement date, Carman plans to do due diligence before committing. He wants to see all of his top suitors in person and play the long game.

“I’m not planning to announce until next December, and I’m going to be taking all five official visits in the fall.”
