The USC Trojans continued a strong run of commitments leading up to National Signing Day by receiving a pledge from 4-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao on Friday.

USC is on a roll leading up to National Signing Day, picking up another commitment from a sought-after standout.

Four-star safety Isaiah Pola-Mao pledged to the Trojans on Friday morning from Mountain Pointe High School in Arizona, choosing USC over Arizona State. Pola-Mao originally planned to announce his decision on Signing Day next Wednesday, but his coach Norris Vaughan convinced him to commit earlier.

Pola-Mao also posted his decision on Twitter:

Pola-Mao was a three-time All-State selection with 21 career interceptions, including 10 as a senior. He’s intimidating at 6-foot-4 and hits ferociously. Palo-Mao had 100 tackles this past season and was one of the most feared defenders in the region. Scout has him ranked as the No. 14 player at his position and No. 140 overall in the nation. Some believe he eventually will develop into a linebacker given his size and knack for the ball.

Pola-Mao’s versatility leaves the chance that USC could give him a shot on offense once in awhile, too. He was a big-play threat in high school, catching 27 passes for 640 yards and nine touchdowns his senior season.

Pola-Mao’s uncle, Pittsburgh Steelers legend Troy Polamalu, also played defensive back at USC. With this pledge, the Trojans now have 17 commitments prior to National Signing Day. Pola-Mao is the 10th four-star commit in that group. USC is tied for No. 11 in the 2017 class rankings, and there could be a few more top-tier players signing with the Trojans when all is said and done.
