Iowa vs. Michigan prediction, online live stream and TV broadcast information for Saturday's regular season finale between the Hawkeyes and Wolverines.
September 24, 2016On Saturday, the No. 16 Iowa Hawkeyes will travel to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines in the final regular season game for both teams.
The Hawkeyes (20-9, 11-6 Big Ten) are in absolute free-fall at the worst possible time. Leading the Big Ten only a couple of weeks ago, Iowa has dropped four consecutive games, including a heartbreaking, 81-78, home loss to Indiana.
The Wolverines (20-10, 10-7 Big Ten) are trying to show the NCAA Tournament committee that they’re worthy of a bid. Unfortunately they haven’t done a lot lately to prove it. Michigan has lost three of the past four games, including a 68-57 loss to Wisconsin in Madison last Sunday.
Saturday’s finale between Iowa and Michigan will be the 153rd matchup between the two programs. The Wolverines hold a 91-61 edge in the series and are looking to even the season set after losing 82-71 back on Jan. 17.
Below is everything you need to know about the matchup, including the Iowa vs. Michigan prediction, online live stream and TV broadcast info, and game notes.
It’ll be an interesting matchup of two teams floundering at the end of the season. Iowa looks worn out after getting off to such a hot start, while Michigan has been plagued by injuries all season. Both clubs are fighting for their postseason lives.
Seeing Spike Albrecht and Caris LeVert, two leaders honored on Senior Day, will light a fire under the Wolverines. Look for Zak Irvin, Derrick Walton Jr., and Duncan Robinson to spread the Hawkeyes out and knock it shots with some consistency. Mark Donnal has played well in Michigan’s wins. He’s the X-Factor here if he can wear down Aaron Woodbury and distribute to open shooters on the perimeter. The Wolverines get a much needed, resume win and get some momentum heading into tournament play.
