Non-Conference Games at FIU, Ball State, Wake Forest

Games vs. the West Nebraska, at Northwestern, Purdue

    5 Keys to the Schedule

    – There’s no reason to put any brutal non-conference games on the slate, and Indiana didn’t with a road trip to FIU followed up by Ball State and Wake Forest. Considering there’s a week off before facing the Demon Deacons, a 3-0 start is a must.

    – The Hoosiers don’t have to play Iowa or Wisconsin from the West, but they get Nebraska and have to go to Northwestern. It’s always a great break to get Purdue as the annual rivalry game.

    – Unlike most Big Ten teams, Indiana doesn’t have a tough run of three road games in four weeks. However, after October 1st there aren’t two home games in a row the rest of the way.

    – How’s this for a first three Big Ten games? Michigan State, at Ohio State and Nebraska. Follow that up with a trip to Northwestern, and it’s going to be a rough start.

    – WATCH OUT FOR … the back-to-back games against Maryland and Rutgers on October 29th and November 5th. IU has to start out 3-0 before dealing with the tough Big Ten run. That might mean beating the Terps and Scarlet Knights will be a must to stay in the mix for a bowl bid.
