Parkway High School head football coach David Feaster has been fired after calling Alabama's recruiting "unethical." His firing was announced on Friday.
February 17, 2017After calling Alabama’s recruiting tactics “unethical”, Parkway High School head football coach David Feaster has been fired.
David Feaster, the head football coach at Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana, who earlier this week said Alabama was not allowed on the school’s campus due to not being ethical, has been fired by school principal Waylon Bates, per The Shreveport Times.
Feaster was irate about how the Crimson Tide and head coach Nick Saban treated former player Brandon Harris during his recruitment, pulling an offer from the prospect after the promise of a scholarship.
“The only school that can’t come to Parkway is Alabama,” Feaster said recently on a Baton Rouge radio station. “And there’s a long story behind that, but it had to do with not being ethical in their recruiting. They can’t come. Everyone else is 100 percent welcome. “I’m just not going to help Alabama recruit my guys.”
School officials at Parkway felt that the coach was “undermining” them, and that he was bringing a lot of unwanted attention to the school district and possibly discouraging Alabama from recruiting other athletes at the school. Officials who were also quoted say it was Feaster’s “third or fourth” incident.
Feaster, who took the Panthers to their first state title game in 2013, will remain at the school as a teacher.
