Four-star wide receiver Henry Ruggs has committed to Alabama over the likes of Florida State, Auburn, Florida, and Penn State.
February 1, 2017Four-star wide receiver Henry Ruggs has committed to Alabama over the likes of Florida State, Auburn, Florida, and Penn State.
By committing to Alabama, Henry Ruggs will find himself catching passes from one of the best young quarterbacks in the game, Jalen Hurts. That will only make the Crimson Tide more explosive on offense than it was in the past season.
Ruggs, a 4-star wide receiver out of Montgomery, could become an instant offensive threat for the Tide, who will be looking to again compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff and the national title in 2017. An excellent basketball player as well, Ruggs has great body control and is able to go up in the air and high point the ball while also making mid-air adjustments if the ball is off target a bit.
At 6’0 and 173 pounds, putting on some weight will be key to lasting an entire season in the rugged SEC West, but his speed makes him a big play threat as he can make defenders miss. Ruggs should see time at both outside receiver and in the slot, but will have to improve his route-running skills to fulfill his potential to the fullest.
Ruggs, who is the 75th top overall prospect in the 2017 recruiting class and ranked No. 10 at the wide receiver position, chose Alabama over FSU, Auburn, Florida, and Penn State.
