The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.

    Resume

    Team: Hawaii Rainbow Warriors

    Record:
    27-5

    Conference:
    Big West

    Head coach:
    Eran Ganot

    How they got here:
     Won conference tournament

    The Good

The Rainbow Warriors have been the class of the Big West all season, and they are playing fantastic basketball right now. Their only two losses in since the start of February have come by a combined eight points, and this is a team craving respect. Stefan Jankovic is the star of the show, averaging 15.9 points and 6.7 boards, and he shoots 55.8 percent from the floor. Roderick Bobbitt is the engine for the team. He’s the third-leading scorer in the lineup and is a steady point guard whose vision sets him apart.

    The Bad

A lack of consistent perimeter shooting is an issue as is the team’s habit of turning the ball over. For all his passing skills, Bobbitt still does some shaky things with the ball, and his mistakes lead to transition opportunities and easy baskets going the other way. A lack of size is another concern.

    Prediction

Hawaii will be dangerous in the first round. This is a team that beat Northern Iowa and Auburn during the non-conference season, and it lost to Oklahoma 84-81. The Rainbow Warriors are fearless, and they don’t have the makeup to get blown out in the NCAA Tourney. We’re not saying they’re a sleeper, but they are going to make a team sweat.
