Head coach Matt Rhule has added another piece to his first recruiting class with the Bears.
On Saturday, 3-star prospect Harrison Hand committed to Baylor, giving the Bears seven total commits in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
With the addition of the nation’s No. 48-ranked cornerback, Baylor moved up from No. 83 to No. 78 in the recruiting class rankings.
Hand released a statement regarding his decision to pledge to the Bears.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the ability and skill set to do what I do. Also, for giving me these opportunities and opening so many doors for me. I would also like to thank my mom, my uncle Jerrod Peterson, and my cousin Roy Carmichael for helping me through this process. I also thank my trainer, Chad Hallet, for getting my body right on every offseason. Lastly, I would also like to thank all of the schools that have been recruiting me and have offered me. That being said, I would like to announce that I am 110 percent committed to Baylor University.”
Hand, who’s from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is also ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in his state.
He’s one of four defensive backs committed to Baylor. Hand joins 3-star cornerback Timarcus Davis, 3-star safety Jalen Pitre and unranked safety Trevon Lewis.
