As long as Jimbo Fisher is in Tallahassee, he’s going to continue beating out Will Muschamp on the recruiting trail – at least as things currently stand.
On Sunday night, 4-star prospect Hamsah Nasirildeen flipped his commitment from South Carolina to Florida State. The Seminoles now have 20 total commits in the cycle but still remain at No. 8 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.
Nasirildeen, who’s ranked as the No. 20 safety and No. 193 overall player in the country, originally gave Muschamp’s staff his commitment on Aug. 16. He released a statement regarding his decision to flip his pledge from the Gamecocks to FSU.
“After discussions with my family and much prayer, I have decided it is in my best interest to decommit from the University of South Carolina. I want to thank Coach [Will] Muschamp and Coach [Bobby] Bentley for the opportunity. I wish you nothing but success in the coming years. I would also like to announce at this time my commitment to Florida State University. Go Noles.”
At 6-foot-4, 200 lbs Nasirildeen has great ball skills and is very active in the box, which is exactly why he could end up making the switch to outside linebacker once he enrolls. He isn’t the most graceful in man coverage, but he’s a valuable weapon to have for defensive coordinators who love to mix up their blitz packages.
Nasirildeen should fit right in with the ‘Noles.
