FSU Paying UL-Monroe $1.35 Million For 2017 Matchup

FSU will pay Louisiana-Monroe more than a million dollars for their matchup in Tallahassee in September.

    December 21, 2016

FSU will pay Louisiana-Monroe more than a million dollars for their matchup in Tallahassee in September.

Louisiana-Monroe will be taking an extremely lucrative trip to Tallahassee in September, as Florida State has agreed to pay the Warhawks $1.35 million for the matchup in the second week of the season, per 247Sports.

The September 9 game will follow a big matchup in the opening weekend for the Seminoles, as they will travel to Atlanta to battle Alabama in the brand new Mercedes-Benz Dome. That contest will be the first ever football game played in the new stadium.

FSU will pay ULM by February 15, 2018, per the contract, and if one of the schools decides to cancel the game, said school would owe $1 million.

Outside of ULM and Alabama, the rest of the Seminoles’ out-of-conference schedule includes back-to-back games against Delaware State in Tallahassee (November 18) and the annual rivalry game against Florida in Gainesville on November 25.
