February 16, 2017FSU commit Robert Cooper is thrilled over his Ohio State offer, saying that “it’s a great feeling.”
The offers are pouring in for 4-star defensive tackle Robert Cooper of Snellville, Georgia. Since the start of the new year, Cooper has picked up 15 offers, nine of which have come in the first 15 days of February.
Cooper is currently committed to the Florida State Seminoles, having pledged last June, but that has’t stopped the pursuit from other programs, one of which is Ohio State.
Sandwiched in between offers from UCF and Virginia, the Buckeyes extended their offer on February 13. Cooper also picked up an offer from the Florida Gators two days later on February 15.
“It’s a great feeling,” Cooper told Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts regarding his Ohio State offer. “It’s amazing.”
While he’s committed to FSU, it appears that Jimbo Fisher has his work cut out over the next year in holding off the likes of Ohio State. Cooper tells Kruelic that the Buckeyes have a shot.
Cooper is ranked the No. 58 overall recruit and No. 3 defensive tackle for the 2018 recruiting class. At 6’1″ and 369 pounds, he’s got the body that makes it difficult for opposing offensive lines to open up holes for running backs. He’s also very athletic for a player of his size.
The programs after him see a player who can be the central anchor of their defensive line for years to come.
