The future of the Notre Dame offense is getting set to head in a new direction. With DeShone Kizer taking his talents to the NFL and with eight of the Fighting Irish’s 15 wide receivers being upperclassmen, Brian Kelly’s offense will welcome a new member.

The news of his new home comes after Canteen visited South Bend this past weekend. He enrolled early in Ann Arbor and graduated after three years, so he’ll qualify as a graduate transfer and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The former 4-star prospect was the No. 31 wide receiver and No. 172 overall player in the 2014 recruiting class when he signed with the Wolverines.
The Elkton, MD native caught six passes for 22 yards and a touchdown in six career games with Michigan. Five of those appearances came as a freshman in 2014. Canteen played in one game and caught one pass in 2015 but didn’t see any action since then, as he has been troubled by shoulder injuries throughout his collegiate career.
Of Notre Dame’s five leading receivers from this past season, only Torii Hunter Jr. will not be returning for the 2017 season. Hunter was ND’s second-leading receiver with 38 grabs for 521 yards and three touchdowns. Top wideout Equanimeous St. Brown led the Irish with 58 catches for 961 yards and nine touchdowns.
