Four-star JUCO prospect Robert Valencia has committed to Washington State, giving the Cougars their fifth offensive tackle in the 2017 class.

The Washington State Cougars scored big on the recruiting trail on Tuesday when they landed a commitment from the nation’s No. 18-ranked JUCO prospect, Robert Valencia, out of City College of San Francisco.

The 6-foot-6, 290 pound offensive tackle announced his college decision on Twitter. He will sign with the Cougars on Wednesday, officially ending the process.

“I’ve truly been blessed to be in this situation that I am today,” Valencia wrote. “From D3 to JuCo to many D1 opportunities, I have truly been blessed with an opportunity that many aren’t able to receive. I want to thank all of the coaches and people that have recruited me throughout this process and thank them for the opportunities that they have given me. I want to thank all of the coaches at CCSF for everything that they have done to help me get to where I am today. Lastly, I would like to thank my family and friends for being there to guide me through this process. I am proud to announce that I will be committing to Washington State University and signing to them tomorrow, Dec. 14th!”

Valencia’s commitment gives Washington State 21 in its 2017 recruiting class. He’s the sixth offensive line commit, and fifth at his respective position.

The Cougars rank No. 26 in the team recruiting rankings.
