Four-star Dallas, Texas cornerback Chevin Calloway has backed off his pledge to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

After committing to the Iowa Hawkeyes this past summer, four-star cornerback Chevin Calloway has had a change of heart. On Monday, in a move that doesn’t come as a huge surprise, Calloway decided to decommit from Iowa and reopen his recruitment.

Since pledging to Iowa in July, Calloway has continued to visit other programs, taking official visits to Arkansas and Nebraska in October, which is prohibited per the Official Iowa Football Scholarship Offer.

Calloway, from Dallas, Texas, is listed at 5’10” and 180 pounds, and ranked as the nation’s No. 136 overall player and No. 14 cornerback for 2017.

Since the turn of the calendar to 2016, Calloway has visited the home-state Texas Longhorns the most, taking two unofficial trips to Austin. He also attended Baylor’s Junior Day in January.

With his decommitment, Iowa’s class now sits at 15 players. Calloway was the second highest ranked recruit, behind five-star defense end A.J. Epenesa.
