The Fordham-Holy Cross rivalry dates back to 1902, and this year’s matchup will carry even more significance. Yankee Stadium will host as they battle for the Ram-Crusader Cup.
Fordham improved to 6-3 with last week’s come-from-behind 24-20 win over Colgate. The Rams are 3-1 in the Patriot League and are chasing 5-0 Lehigh for the conference title.
Holy Cross hung on to beat Georgetown, 21-20, last week to snap a two-game skid. The Crusaders are 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Fordham Game Notes
- Chase Edmonds especially is looking forward to this contest. He’s chasing the all-time FCS rushing record held by Georgia Southern’s Adrian Peterson, who ran for 6,559 yards. Edmonds, who is only a junior, has 4,985.
- Edmonds rushed for 162 yards and four touchdowns in last year’s meeting against Holy Cross and scored the winning touchdown in the first overtime of a 47-41 victory.
- Fordham was 12-8-1 all-time at the old Yankee Stadium, including a win over Holy Cross in the only meeting there between the teams in 1923. This is the Rams’ first game at the new ballpark.
Holy Cross Notes
- Brendan Flaherty has 187 catches for 1,920 yards and 17 touchdowns in his career. He currently stands third all-time at Holy Cross in career receptions.
- Senior linebacker Kyle Young had eight tackles to go along with a game-clinching interception in the fourth quarter last week against Georgetown.
- Holy Cross leads the all-time series 27-24-2, but Fordham has won the last four meetings.
