    Florida State vs. Boston College

Final Score: Florida State 14, Boston College 0

    1. In a defensive slugfest, Everett Golson found Travis Rudolph for a nine-yard touchdown pass early in the first, and that was it for the Florida State offense on the scoreboard.

    2. Terrance Smith forced a fumble, and Jalen Ramsey returned it 36 yards for a Seminole score in the fourth.

    3. Boston College was held to just 195 yards of total offense and quarterback Darius Wade went down with an apparent ankle injury.

    Florida State

    – The Seminoles have their modus operandi down at this point. Don’t turn the ball over, be conservative, run the ball, let the defense win the game. Boston College’s offense was limited – to be kind – and there was no reason to do anything crazy. It might not be a pretty style, but it’s effective.

    – It was a nearly perfect day from the FSU punting game, keeping BC buried deep all game long. Cason Beatty averaged 52.3 yards per kick with four of his seven kicks put inside the 20.

    – Everett Golson completed 15-of-24 passes for 119 yards and a score, and ran for five yards on six carries. Dalvin Cook was banged up a bit, running for 54 yards on 15 carries.

    Boston College

    – The Eagles almost had a chance. One of Alex Howell’s seven punts – he averaged 48 yards per kick – bounced off of FSU returner Jesus Wilson, and there was a shot at finally getting the ball dep in Seminole territory, but FSU came up with the recovery. The BC offense needed a break – it wasn’t going to move the ball a lick on the FSU D – and the passing game when behind was just plain sad.

    – BC quarterbacks combined to complete 5-of-15 passes for 56 yards and a pick. Darius Wade completed 4-of-12 passes for 47 yards and an interception, and ran ten times for 38 yards before getting hurt.

    – LB Harold Landry made 16 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss.
