Florida offensive guard Brandon Sandifer has left the Gators program and will transfer after two seasons in Gainesville.

Things weren’t working out for Brandon Sandifer in Gainesville as a Florida Gator, so the former three-star offensive guard has decided to transfer.

“He’s no longer with us. He’s going to move on,” head coach Jim McElwain said during his press conference on Monday.

Sandifer committed to the Gators as part of the 2015 signing class that finished No. 29 in the Scout team recruiting class rankings. Out of Northside HS in Warner Robins, Georgia, Sandifer was ranked the 56th best overall offensive guard in the country in the signing class, including the 19th best in the South.

After redshirting in 2015, Sandifer saw action in only two games last season, making his first appearance against North Texas in a 32-0 blowout. With a lot of experience returning on the offensive line and some newcomers coming in from the 2017 signing class, Sandifer was not expected to play any role for the two-time SEC East division champions.

As a transfer, Sandifer will have to sit out a season per the NCAA transfer rule and will have three years left of eligibility left.
