Unlike recent Florida Gators injury updates, this one carries good news for Jim McElwain’s team.

It hasn’t been great news for the Florida Gators on the injury front, but there is some good news as the team readies for its pivotal SEC matchup against LSU this weekend.

During Wednesday’s teleconference, head coach Jim McElwain informed that injured defensive lineman CeCe Jefferson and offensive lineman Tyler Jordan are practicing with the team. Both sound like they’ll be a go this Saturday in Baton Rouge, which would be a huge boost for the Gators.

“He’ll [CeCe] do everything he can to get out there,” McElwain said regarding Jefferson. “I do believe that it is a lift … we’re going to need that, somebody trying to set the edge. He’ll definitely try to do that.”

As for Jordan, McElwain says “he’s doing everything he can.”

“He [Tyler] did take some reps yesterday. I’ll know more after practice today, but he looked like he’s going to be available.”

Both units – the offensive and defensive line – are going to be put to the test facing off against a ferocious Tigers defense, which ranks No. 13 in the country, and the running back duo of Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice, whom McElwain praised highly on Wednesday.
