March 26, 2017A Florida Gators football recruiting update for the week of March 26, 2017. Jim McElwain’s team added a big-bodied wide receiver to its 2019 recruiting class.
The 2018 recruiting class for Jim McElwain’s Gators still has the same status quo, as Jalynn Williams and Divaad Wilson are their only two commits. However, their 2019 recruiting class got a boost when 6-foot-4 wide receiver Frank Ladson Jr. committed to Florida, becoming its third commit in the cycle.
There have been some positive moves for the Gators in terms of their 2018 haul, though.
Florida has been one of a few teams chasing after 4-star quarterback Joe Milton, and it’s looking like the favorite in his recruitment right now. Milton is going to be an early enrollee in January and is looking to make a college commitment within the next two to three months.
The Gators are also trending upward for a few top-notch running backs. Florida running backs coach JaJuan Seider has a few blue-chip tailbacks on his radar, but it looks as though the Gators are favored to land 4-star running backs Asa Martin and Iverson Clement. Ohio State is also competing for the latter, but the Buckeyes have some ground to make up in Clement’s recruitment.
