The 2016 Florida Atlantic football schedule is good enough to get to a bowl game, but tough enough on the road to push for anything more, like a Conference USA East title.

    Sept. 3 Southern Illinois
    Sept. 10 at Miami
    Sept. 17 at Kansas State
    Sept. 24 Ball State
    Oct. 1 at FIU
    Oct. 8 Charlotte
    Oct. 15 at Marshall
    Oct. 22 OPEN DATE
    Oct. 29 WKU
    Nov. 5 at Rice
    Nov. 12 UTEP
    Nov. 19 Old Dominion
    Nov. 26 at Middle Tennessee

Non-Conference Games: Southern Miss, at Miami, at Kansas State, Ball State

Games vs. the West: at Rice, UTEP

    5 Keys To The Schedule

    – The Owls have two winnable non-conference games against Southern Illinois and Ball State wrapped around the road games at Miami and Kansas State. 2-2 would be a solid start considering there should be four winnable games the rest of the way.
    – There’s no Louisiana Tech to face from the West, and there’s no Southern Miss, either. Going to Rice and UTEP – the Owls play just two interdivisional games – is a nice break from the scheduling gods.
    – The date down the road at FIU isn’t just a fun way to open up the Conference USA season, it might be a must win to end a run of three road games in four. Especially with a date at Marshall coming up.
    – That game against the Thundering Herd, along with the road trip to Middle Tennessee, will make any dreams of taking the East all but impossible. However, the WKU game is at home, and again, the West slate isn’t bad.
    – WATCH OUT FOR … at Rice. If the Owls can pull this off, with UTEP and ODU at home to follow in November, there’s a good chance they might be bowl eligible before the trip to Middle Tennessee. There can’t be mistakes against Charlotte or Ball State, though.
