Five-Star Athlete Jeffrey Okudah High On FSU After Visit

Five-star athlete Jeffrey Okudah is high on FSU after his official visit to Tallahassee. He called the atmosphere during the Seminoles' game against Clemson "wild."

    November 10, 2016

South Grand Prairie High School prospect Jeffrey Okudah is high on FSU after taking an official visit to see the Seminoles.

Five-star athlete/safety Jeffrey Okudah (Grand Prairie, Texas) has taken three of his allotted five official visits so far this season, the latest being a trip to Tallahassee to check out the Florida State Seminoles. Okudah was in attendance at Doak Campbell Stadium when the Seminoles pushed No. 2 Clemson to the brink.

Despite the fact that FSU is having a down year, now with three losses on the season, that didn’t diminish the atmosphere Okudah walked into or any feelings regarding the Seminoles.

“I had a really good visit,” Okudah told Warchant.com. “I would say being around the players, talking more with Coach Kelly, Coach Fisher. And learning a lot about their academics was a big part to go along with the game, which was crazy. The atmosphere was just wild.”

The game day and in-game atmospheres have been instrumental pieces in head coach Jimbo Fisher’s recruiting arsenal since his arrival in Tallahassee, helping him lure top-flight talent from around the talent-rich state and the nation.

In addition to his Florida State trip, Okudah has officially visited Georgia (Sept. 30) and Oklahoma (Sept. 17).

Okudah is ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 1 athlete in the country for 2017. He’s the state of Texas’s No. 2-ranked recruit, just behind five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, so landing him would be a huge recruiting coup for any program.

As for the leader right now, Okudah previously named the Buckeyes No. 1, but he’s still taking his time to weigh all his options, which, in addition to the aforementioned schools, includes the likes of Michigan, LSU, Stanford, Texas.
