Everett Golson will throw at Notre Dame’s pro day in hope of being selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.
It’s never too late to go home.
Apparently, former Fighting Irish quarterback Everett Golson still considers South Bend, Ind. home. After not being invited to the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Golson has decided to throw at Notre Dame’s pro day on March 31, according to 247Sports.
Golson transferred to Florida State last year and lost the starting job to Sean Maguire partway through the season. The former Notre Dame quarterback threw 11 touchdowns and three interceptions in nine games for the Seminoles.
Golson helped lead Notre Dame to an undefeated regular-season record and an appearance in the 2013 BCS Championship Game, which the Fighting Irish lost, 42-14 to Alabama. Notre Dame ended the year 12-1 and ranked No. 4 in the AP Poll – the program’s highest ranking since 1993.
The quarterback was suspended for the fall of 2013 after violating an academic honor code at Notre Dame. In 2014, his last year with the Irish, Golson threw for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
Golson is currently projected to go undrafted at the NFL Draft, which will take place in late April.
