Four-star defensive tackle Eric Crosby reaffirmed his top five schools as his decision date nears.

When Alabama and Clemson met in the national championship game a couple months ago, it was the Crimson Tide who won the fight.

Now the two powerhouse programs will duke it out again — this time for 4-star defensive tackle Eric Crosby. The biggest difference now, though, is they both have some more competition.

The No. 7 defensive tackle and No. 94 overall recruit in the 2017 class reaffirmed his top five schools on Monday. He originally tweeted them out on Feb. 1, but that list didn’t have an order to it. Crosby didn’t specify whether this new list is in order, but if it is, N.C. State is ahead of the pack.

The Wolfpack have been hot on Crosby’s trail while Virginia Tech and Tennessee aren’t far behind — if behind at all. It’s just tough to imagine Alabama and Clemson not making the race more interesting down the stretch with as well as they recruit.

Dabo Swinney and Nick Saban have been lighting up the recruiting trail. The Tigers are sitting at No. 3 in the 2017 class rankings while the Tide is right behind at No. 4.

At 6-foot-2 and 285 lbs, Crosby has ideal size for a defensive tackle coming out of high school. He moves very well for his frame, having spent time at running back, too.

The Virginia Beach, Va. native will make his decision on April 22.
