DeMarcus Walker Jokes About Making Miami Fans Cry After Block At The Rock

DeMarcus Walker apparently made some Miami fans cry following the Block at the Rock, which handed the Hurricanes their first defeat of the season.

The game always comes down to a single kick when FSU and Miami play. At least that’s what it feels like.

And 2016 gave us The Block at the Rock. After Miami scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes needed only an extra point to tie up the game at 20. That’s when DeMarcus Walker – FSU’s force of nature off the end – pushed through the line and blocked the kick. Florida State would win the game, handing Miami its first loss of the season.

According to Walker, who is now down in Miami for the Orange Bowl, the game didn’t sit well with Hurricane fans – several have told him that his block made young children cry.

“Two parents came up to me and said, ‘You made my son cry,'” Walker told reporters on Tuesday. “I just did my job, that’s all I did.”

    He jokingly added, “Merry Christmas.”

Alas, probably best the young’uns received that bitter taste of defeat early. Nothing comes easy when the Canes and Noles meet, which is why it’s still one of the game’s preeminent rivalries.
