David Long commits to the Michigan Wolverines with two weeks left until National Signing Day.

    January 21, 2016

David Long committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday afternoon.

It’s been a pretty eventful week for 4-star cornerback David Long Jr. The prized recruit from Los Angeles, Calif. welcomed one of the nation’s best college football coaches, Jim Harbaugh, into his home, and things took an interesting turn.

While playing catch with Long’s siblings, the Michigan head coach decided he would retrieve the ball after it ended up in a tree.

Long posted Harbaugh’s tree-climbing effort onto Snapchat, and it took over the internet for a short time.

Apparently, Harbaugh was barking up the right tree. On Thursday, Long committed to Michigan. He’s the nation’s No. 8 cornerback and No. 65 overall recruit, according to 247Sports Composite.

The Wolverines now have 21 commits in their 2016 class, and Long is the 14th 4-star recruit to join the group.
