Dalvin Cook To Brother And 5-Star RB James Cook: ‘Do Whatever Fits’

Dalvin Cook wants his younger brother James Cook to "do whatever fits" him. Cook is a 5-star running back recruit in the 2018 class.

Despite his allegiance to Florida State, Dalvin Cook wants his younger brother, 5-star running back James Cook, to do what’s best for him.

Given Dalvin Cook’s career with Florida State, one would think he’d be pushing his younger brother to also play for the Seminoles. Such is not the case.

“He’s not telling me not to go to Florida or to go to Florida State,” James Cook told Zach Abolverdi of SEC Country. “He says do whatever fits me.”

While Dalvin prepares to make the jump from college to the NFL as arguably the top running back in the draft, James continues to progress through the recruiting process. He’s been committed to Florida State for nearly a year now, having pledge on March 11, 2016, but he’s still listening to what other programs have to pitch.

“I learned from what he went through, so it has helped me with my recruiting process,” Cook said. “He just tells me to stay focused, take every visit and listen to what every coach has to say.”

Programs continue to knock on the door, and James, keeping his brother’s advice in mind, is doing his due diligence to weigh all options. What worked best for Dalvin may not be the case for James.

Florida, Georgia, Oregon and USC are all teams expected to receive official visits from Cook this upcoming season. Miami is also in the mix.

Cook is the No. 4 running back and No. 25 overall player in the CI 25.
