On Friday evening, 4-star running back Cordarrian Richardson decommitted from the Clemson Tigers, a program to whom he had been verbally committed since early March.

Richardson announced the decision via social media, though did not give much reason other than his wanting to reevaluate the prospects. Clemson, it must be noted, has not been removed from consideration.

“After a long time thinking and talking to my mother and coaches about this decision, I’ve decided that I’ll re-open my recruitment. Clemson is not out of the conclusion and I consider them a priority.

“I will not make any further comments and I ask that you respect my family and I during this process.

NO INTERVIEWS!!!!! [sic]”

Hailing from Memphis, Tennessee, Richardson was named Tennessee Mr. Football 2A Class Back in November. The recruitment process has been relatively quiet for Richardson ever since he verbally committed to Clemson on March 6. He took no official visits, nor did he receive any coaches visits during the season.

Aside from Clemson, Richardson has offers from a host of the nation’s top programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan and Oklahoma. The Florida State Seminoles are currently the clubhouse favorites to land the nation’s No. 7-ranked running back.
