    Charlotte at Old Dominion

    In a wild firefight, Old Dominion took the lead for good with an 11-yard Zach Pascal touchdown catch with a two-point conversion with just over two minutes to go to finally put Charlotte away. 49er running back Kalif Phillips ran for two touchdowns including a 36-yarder late in the second quarter, but ODU kept up fighting the whole way with David Washington throwing for four scoring passes with two to Pascal in the fourth quarter. It took a nine play, 75-yard drive for ODU to finally get the game-winning points.

    Player of the Game: Old Dominion WR Zach Pascal caught 11 passes for 231 yards and three scores.

    Florida International at Middle Tennessee

    Final Score: Middle Tennessee 42, Florida International 34
    Pick: Mississippi State 38, Louisiana Tech 21
    Line: Middle Tennessee -9, o/u: 54.5

    Desmond Anderson ran for three first half touchdowns, and Kamani Thomas ran for a 15-yard score, as Middle Tennessee took a 28-16 lead. FIU kept fighting with Alex McGough running for a score and finding Thomas Owens for a ten-yard score late to pull within eight, but the final drive stalled just past midfield. The Blue Raiders were balanced, running for 200 yards and throwing for 261, and were 7-of-11 on third down plays.

    Player of the Game: Middle Tennessee RB Desmond Anderson ran 29 times for 144 yards and three scores.

    UTSA at Southern Miss

    Southern Miss cranked out 556 yards of total offense with Jalen Richard and Ito Smith each coming up with over 100 yards rushing, and D.J. Thompson and Michael Thomas also making over 100 yards full of receptions in the blowout. The Golden Eagles also got four Stephen Brouchle field goals on the way to a 26-0 lead, but they turned it over four times. UTSA was able to come up with ten third quarter points helped by a one-yard Kerry Thomas scoring grab, but Richard put the game away with a one-yard touchdown in the fourth.

    Player of the Game: Southern Miss RB Jalen Richard ran 25 times for 115 yards and a score, and caught five passes for 69 yards.

    WKU at North Texas

    Final Score: WKU 55, North Texas 28

    Brandon Doughty threw four touchdown passes with two to Taywan Taylor from 56 and 31 yards out for a 34-7 lead. Late in the first half, North Texas got a 46-yard Darvin Kidsey prayer catch as time ran out, but the rout was on. Anthony Wales took over in the second half with two touchdown runs in the third as WKU got up 55-14 before taking its foot off the gas. UNT’s DeMarcus Smith threw four touchdown passes with two to Carlos Harris in the final few minutes.

    Player of the Game: WKU RB Anthony Wales ran 21 times for 193 yards and two scores, and caught five passes for 66 yards and a score.

    Louisiana Tech at Mississippi State

    Final Score: Mississippi State 45, Louisiana Tech 20
    Pick: Mississippi State 38, Louisiana Tech 21

    Louisiana Tech got up 14-0 on two Jeff Driskel touchdown passes, but by the middle of the second quarter it was all about Dak Prescott and the Bulldog offense. Prescott found De’Runnya Wilson for a five-yard score and ran for a two-yard touchdown to take the lead, and his 20-yard scoring play to Wilson in the third provided the breathing room. Brandon Bryant made it a rout returning a Driskel pass 73 yards for a fourth quarter score.

    Player of the Game: Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott completed 30-of-43 passes for 347 yards and three scores, and ran ten times for a team-high 34 yards and a touchdown.

    Marshall at Florida Atlantic

    Final Score: Marshall 33, Florida Atlantic 17

    The Marshall running game ripped off 326 yards, taking control of the game early and keeping it throughout, starting with a 75-yard Devon Johnson scoring run on the second play of the game, and put away in the third on a 66-yard Hyleck Foster run. Marshall QB Chase Litton was picked off for a 95-yard touchdown by Ocie Rose, but he made up for it just over two minutes later with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Davonte Allen for some breathing room.

    Player of the Game: Marshall RB Hyleck Foster ran 17 times for 122 yards and a score. Marshall outgained FAU 500 yards to 334.
